Sponsored by: MICHAEL LITVACK
16" x 20" in, Acrylic on Canvas
St. Marguerite Street in St. Henri used to have many houses in this wooden slat style, built in the mid 1800s. The area was a poor working district for many decades. Now they have been replaced by upscale condos and apartments. The croquet club has also disappeared.
80-year-old artist Michael Litvack was born in Montreal and continues to live and paint in Montreal. The artist has been mostly self-taught.
“My intent is to bring memories back to older people. My paintings often bring a smile to people, sometimes a tear will show up, with the phrase that follows – I remember.” ~ Michael Litvack
